We have P.E. every Tuesday and Thursday which will require you to wear your school sports kit. We are also doing a daily 10 minute run however no special kit is required for this.

Year 4 are also lucky enough to be taking part in the Forest School. This is an opportuntity for children of all abilities an opportunity to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning through the natural environment within the grounds of Hogarth Primary School.

Homework is given out on a Friday as usual and is to be returned (at the latest) the following Wednesday. If you do not remember to bring your homework in on the Wednesday you will need to go to the catch-up club during your break time on Thursday - so get it done early!

Please remember to practice times tables, handwriting and your spellings at home as often as you can. We test you on all these three aspects every week and if you want to achieve your best then practice at home - you will notice a huge difference in your work the more you do.

Our spelling test will be first thing on a Wednesday and our times table challenge is first thing on a Thursday.

You must read to a parent or guardian at home as often as possible and have them record this in your reading diary. Daily practice with an adult can increase your enthusiasm and understanding of what you are reading and will help to progress your skills even further. We recognise this is sometimes not always possible but we do expect you to read to an adult at home at least three times a week which will be checked on Thursdays.

We have an upcoming class visit to Colchester Castle on the 14th June 2018. More information will be given closer to the time.
